 Evaluation of Cabinet Of Curiosities

I think the overall performance of the cabinet of curiosity  was the success just watching everyone's little pieces such as duets or even the classes performance was a real touching moment to show different stories that were developing.
Myself in particular in the performanceI thought that me and Skye in our duets were very open to what we could do and interpret from our sculpturally taken from the Tate modern.I would say that performance was very difficult overtime as we were getting tired of the continuous lifting however I think the stress and strain on our bodies just added to the peace overall when people came round and looked how supporting  one another was actually more difficult than you thought.if me and Skye had looked in more  development I think we would added more material to make it less continuous but a longer piece.idea of having sheets overhead came to us when we for that supporting each other not just as people but as objects as well.and the idea that where in this paper over your head took away your personality and dehumanised you.
For the class piece I think that the movements and different sections we made were experimental and did explore theatre in a new way to ours there wasn't much of a story compared to Sarah's there was a clear narrative and you could understand what the overall piece meant11 that's not saying that our pieces bad I think I'll piece is great and the audience did really take something from it.The fire movement could've been more fluid and I think some people just doing generic movement and not thinking about other parts of the body they could use.came to the cross dress I think most of us put in a lot of work and ready for off different ways to use this cloth not just pulling in tugging.me and Harry seem to find this sequence  easy me and him are best friends and we are quite comfortable with each other so we did not mind that this task would have physical elements to it , we  trust each other and I think helped in the piece that we could have their moments of just looking at each other net not being awkward they really told a story within the eyes to an audience.
From the overall performance I think that what the class needed to work on was when someone says be silent it doesn't mean you can whisper backstage I did find myself getting more agitated and angry and it did show as I did start to get annoyed with people think if we were in the industry and we wanna take it seriously especially on the night of the performance thenthese people were meant to be actor should have taken more seriously to.should be something I say they needed to work on however when it did come to onstage performances we did all pull off and deliver a really good show.
Antonin Artaud jeune b SD.jpg

Antoine Artaud was born n 1896 in France he had Greek ancestors and he really took hold of that as a idea for theatre work.Interesting story of his life was he was made to join the french army how ever he was let off the force as he was proun to sleep walking . He moved to Paris to follow the dream of writing but instead he found a passion for directing he did continue to write and do poems and did eventually get published but not for that reason of his writing but because of his life. through his life producing and directing plays along side other great directors of the time he also found a love for cinema. Artuad in his life was arrested and places in straight jacket after traveling to Ireland and getting kicked out then believed he was being attacked and reacted by attacking back. the end of his life was spent in different insane asylums and when France was attacked by Nazi's his friends had him transferred to some where safe. He did continue to write after this.

Grotowski work

Jerzy Grotowski was a polish theatre director who was born in the 1933 an died in 1999 at the age of 65. As he was alive in the time of  the second world war the family had moved to a small village as the dad had gone off to war. This time that was spent there they think were the developing stages of Grotowski and let him explore the world around him. The first show that was produced by him was in 1958 and it was titled God Of Rain it showed the surface and way that Grotowski approached text and he developed his initial ideas through out his career.

Grotowski's work was being censored by professional theatres and his real stories and directing ablity was not being fully performed so they decided to move the company to different location so they could explore the work they wanted in a way they wished fit.

As he had already had successful shows people already new about his work and were excited to see more so it was not like he had to start all over again and build a reputation

Grotowski did have qualifications in acting from Moscow and n that time he learnt about different approaches to theatre and he wanted to make his own way by adapting old styles into his age.

Grotowski had this idea of poor theatre that meant not worrying about lights or other attributes of the stage or site but focusing purely on the ability of an actor and what the audience would get from the performance on his own.
